Hello! I’m Eleanor, a PhD candidate in political science/international relations at Kyushu University in Japan, where I am studying on a full scholarship awarded by the Japanese government.
I am passionate about education and have more than 8 years of experience teaching English in Japan, Hong Kong, and France. I have worked with students of all ages, from young learners to adults, in both academic and community settings. My teaching experience includes English communication, debate and public speaking, as well as facilitating discussions on global and social issues.
I specialize in business English, IELTS, and DSE preparation, with a strong focus on helping students develop clear, confident, and structured communication skills. I place particular emphasis on speaking and writing, ensuring that students can express their ideas effectively in both academic and professional contexts.
In addition to language teaching, I also provide university application and scholarship essay coaching. As a recipient of a fully funded PhD scholarship, I support students in crafting compelling personal statements, study plans, and application materials that stand out.
I am fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and I also speak Japanese (JLPT N1) and French, allowing me to support learners from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
My teaching approach is interactive, structured, and tailored to each student’s goals. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident, motivated, and able to make steady progress.
