Hello! I am an experienced tutor with 4 years of experience and over 1000 lessons delivered online for English Literature and Language at GCSE, KS3, A-level and other levels. My goal is to ensure that you understand and gain enough practice with English concepts so that you can perform to the best of your abilities, whether that is in an exam or for personal reasons. With Literature, I have taught poetry, the 19th century novel, Shakespearean texts and modern novels. With Language, I have primarily taught from past papers and work to build confidence and understanding as to what the examiners want from you in order to help you ace your exams. In terms of either subject, we work together to find the most comfortable way of tackling the texts and questions for you so that you can work with the most effective way possible.

I also provide structures for paragraphs and essay plans, so that you are never stuck and unsure of how to progress with your answers. We can work with these if you feel like they can help you, and we can also modify them depending on which areas you are struggling with the most. For Literature, we will work with quote-banks and find relevant information to include for any quote-based paragraph so that we are satisfying the requirements of each exam board and country (for instance, Scotland and England have different criteria).

I can also help you improve your overall written and oral communication by choosing subjects which interest you and working on your development of arguments, as well as working to help your grammatical expression be as accurate as possible. Feedback will be provided for any piece of writing you produce and share with me, alongside comments on what our next steps will be.
